Xfinity Mobile Product Expansion Proposal:
Target Market: Students Studying Abroad | Collaboration: Cross-Functional Teams
During my internship at Xfinity, I developed a Product Expansion Proposal aimed at extending Xfinity Mobile's reach into a high-potential segment: students studying abroad. This initiative sought to acquire new customers by leveraging a demographic known for long-term brand loyalty—college students who tend to maintain the products and services they adopt during their university years.
Strategic Approach: I collaborated across multiple teams to build a comprehensive business case
-
Product Team: Reviewed existing Xfinity Mobile plans and feature sets
-
Finance Team: Analyzed cost structures and pricing models
-
Go-to-Market & Back-to-School Teams: Researched current student acquisition strategies and promotional campaigns
Key Insights Students: represent a valuable long-term customer base with higher retention rates post-graduation compared to other demographics. By tailoring Xfinity Mobile offerings to meet the unique connectivity needs of study-abroad students—including international data packages, flexible billing, and seamless roaming—the proposal outlined a pathway to capture this underserved market while strengthening brand loyalty early in the customer lifecycle.
Deliverables: My proposal included a detailed market analysis, competitive positioning, financial projections, and a phased rollout strategy.
